FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Alco Building Solutions, Inc. (ABS) to Construct Innovative EV Charging Mobility Hub in Underserved Sacramento Communities

Auburn, California – December 4, 2020 – Alco Building Solutions, Inc. (ABS), is proud to announce its latest endeavor – the groundbreaking construction of a revolutionary Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Mobility Hub. This hub will herald a new era of zero-emissions transportation in underserved neighborhoods across Sacramento, California.

With an extensive track record in the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) ecosystem, ABS has been awarded this pioneering project as a testament to its unparalleled expertise. Over the past two decades, ABS has consistently demonstrated its capabilities as a design-build contracting firm, delivering a variety of EV projects with precision and finesse. The company boasts an impressive portfolio that includes the management and operation of a robust network of publicly accessible electric vehicle chargers throughout California, playing a pivotal role in the state's electrification objectives and strategic roadmap.

ABS's client, Green Technical Education and Employment (Green Tech), a community-driven nonprofit organization, is dedicated to fostering sustainable communities by providing top-notch workforce skills, education, and health strategies. Simeon Gant, Executive Director of Green Tech Education, highlighted the pressing need for improved transportation to their programs. These programs empower students by offering training in clean energy technology, construction, sustainability, utilities, manufacturing, and various other fields.

Marking a remarkable milestone, the envisioned mobility hub is set to be a pioneer in California. This innovative facility will host a direct-current electric car fast charger (DCFC) alongside Level 2 chargers for electric vehicles, accessible free of charge to qualifying residents. Furthermore, the mobility hub will serve as a nexus for an electric bus and ride-hailing service tailored to the neighborhood's needs. The proposed plans showcase a transformation of a derelict vacant lot into an aesthetically pleasing, landscaped enclave that resonates with the community's essence, as noted by Gant.

The Green Tech Mobility Hub is projected to accommodate up to 12 electric cars in its surface parking lot, while also providing docking facilities for electric buses. The thoughtfully designed space will encompass landscaping, trees, complimentary Wi-Fi, electrified benches, electrified bike racks, and even a designated area for a food truck to park.

"We are incredibly excited to undertake this transformative project in collaboration with Green Technical Education and Employment," stated Allan Cook, President and CEO of ABS. "This mobility hub not only symbolizes our commitment to sustainable transportation but also underscores our dedication to community enrichment."
